The European Commission has launched a new humanitarian aid operation to support the people of Syria amidst the country’s ongoing political transition.
This initiative aims to provide critical healthcare and essential supplies to those in need.
The EU has increased its humanitarian funding for 2024 to over €160 million, focusing on healthcare, shelter, and food supplies.
EU-funded aid flights will transport 50 tons of health supplies from Dubai to Adana, Türkiye, and then distribute them across the border into Syria.
Additional supplies, including trauma kits, emergency shelter materials, and food parcels, will also be delivered to support 61,500 people in northern Syria.
