President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared that Türkiye will firmly oppose any efforts aimed at preventing peace and stability in Syria.
Speaking after a Cabinet meeting, he said Türkiye will stand alongside the Syrian government against those trying to divide the country.
“Anyone attempting to block Syria’s path to peace will find Türkiye standing against them,” Erdoğan said, underlining Ankara’s rejection of all plans to carve up Syria, including the creation of so-called terror corridors along the border.
He described December 8 as a turning point for Syria and stressed that there is no going back to the conditions before that date. He urged all actors to value Türkiye’s friendship and act responsibly.
Erdoğan emphasized that a stable and united Syria is not only crucial for Syrians but for the entire region. He also highlighted Türkiye’s commitment to a foreign policy based on peace, justice, and strong diplomatic efforts.
