Turkiye introduced the “Aggöz” gimbal system, also known as the “National Eye,” marking a significant advancement in its defense capabilities. This new system is designed to empower Turkiye’s domestic uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Developed by the defense firm Asis Guard, the gimbal has been specifically created to meet the demands of cloud-based UAV operations.
It incorporates advanced features like cameras, lasers, thermal sensors, and other vital sensing systems, enabling superior performance for connected UAVs.
Weighing in at 3.5 kilograms, the gimbal allows UAVs to capture high-quality images and track targets, even under the most challenging conditions.
It also includes a bi-resolution cold and thermal camera module, offering 1920×1080 resolution and 30x optical zoom for daytime operations.
Asis Guard’s CEO Baris Duzgun, explained that the company’s cameras, now powered by artificial intelligence (AI), have enhanced detection capabilities, allowing for longer range and faster detection.
The company has also deployed similar technology for ground vehicles and border security and has installed this system in Nigeria as well.
