Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. İrfan Neziroğlu, along with Turkish Consul General Durmuş Baştuğ, visited Punjab University, Lahore.
The Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali, warmly welcomed them. During the visit, the Pro Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, Dr. Khalid Mehmood, was also present.
The Director of External Linkages, Yamina Salman, and other officers from the Turkish Consulate were also present at the meeting.

During the visit, Ambassador Neziroğlu expressed that Turkiye and Pakistan can benefit greatly from each other’s resources. He stated that the mutual cooperation between both countries could serve as an example for other Muslim countries.
He emphasized the need to further strengthen bilateral relations.
Speaking on educational cooperation, the Ambassador expressed that Turkiye wishes to promote joint research in the universities of Pakistan.
He added that both countries aim to enhance cooperation in the fields of science and culture. The Ambassador also mentioned plans to introduce a dual degree program between the universities of both nations.

He further stated that they are working on creating an academic roadmap between Turkiye and Pakistan. Additionally, an educational fair will soon be organized between the universities of both countries.
During the visit, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali, mentioned that Pakistani students feel at home when they visit Turkiye, enjoying a homely atmosphere there.
He further expressed that Punjab University is committed to playing an active role in enhancing educational collaboration with Turkiye.
Dr. Muhammad Ali also stated the need to institutionalize joint research between the two brotherly nations. He welcomed and appreciated the efforts of TIKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency) in Pakistan.
