To mark Turkism Day, representatives from Turkic countries gathered in Baku, Azerbaijan, for a panel titled “Unity in Language, Idea, and Work: The Future of the Turkic World.”
The event, organized by Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications, aimed at strengthening cooperation among the Turkic nations.
The panel was attended by officials from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Hungary. The program began with a moment of silence for martyrs and included performances of the Azerbaijani National Anthem and Independence Anthem.

Fahrettin Altun, Türkiye’s Director of Communications, delivered a video message emphasizing the importance of unity in language, thought and action. He highlighted the role of the Organization of Turkic States (TDT) in promoting cooperation across political, economic, cultural, and social areas.

Türkiye’s Ambassador to Baku, Birol Akgün, discussed the growing strength of the TDT as a model of regional cooperation, calling for further collaboration in areas like education and economic development. He stressed the need for mutual trust and strategic partnerships.
The panel also included speakers who discussed various aspects of unity, including the development of a common alphabet and further support for the TRNC. The event ended with a piano recital by Azerbaijani artist Turan Manafzade.
The gathering in Baku highlighted the strong bonds between the Turkic nations and the shared vision for a prosperous future built on unity and cooperation.
