Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools and Colleges students achieved a historic success at the globally renowned TechnoFest 2025 held in Northern Cyprus. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan awarded Pakistani students first place in the Social Innovation competition.
This honor was presented to students Asma Fatima and Anaya Khan from Lahore’s Dream Garden campus for their technological invention “Emotion Detector Gadget for Paralyzed Individuals (Quadriplegic),” which they developed under the name “Maarif Scientist 25.”

This device was specifically designed for individuals who are unable to express their emotions due to physical disabilities. With the help of this gadget, emotions can be detected and converted into digital signals, blending human empathy with technology in an ideal way.
TechnoFest, recognized as the largest event for aviation, science, and technology in the world, saw participation from thousands of students from around the globe.
The Pakistani students participated in the competition along with their mentor, Ms. Gohar Khurshid, representing Pak-Turk Maarif International. Pak-Turk Maarif is an educational network operating under the Turkish Maarif Foundation, which promotes scientific thinking, innovation, and social responsibility among students.

This success is not only a proud achievement for the institution but also for Pakistan, and it is being seen as a beautiful reflection of the long-standing educational and cultural relations between Pakistan and Turkiye.
The Turkish Maarif Foundation, the state educational organization of Turkiye, provides quality education in over 53 countries. In Pakistan, the foundation operates a vast network of Pak-Turk Maarif Schools and Colleges with 25 branches and over 13,000 students, where education, critical thinking, scientific research, and social awareness are promoted.
“Two Nations – One Future” is a slogan that has been brought to life, showing that the friendship between Pakistan and Turkiye is not just limited to words but is flourishing in the form of significant collaboration and success in the practical field.
This project was praised by experts, participants, and judges, and it was regarded as a positive step towards a comprehensive solution.
