Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Two-Day Visit to Azerbaijan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is embarking on a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan, marking a significant step in enhancing the diplomatic and economic relationship between the two nations.

Today, the Prime Minister will engage in a series of high-level meetings and events aimed at fostering deeper cooperation.

The visit began with a formal meeting at the Presidential Palace of Zuğulba, where Prime Minister Sharif will be welcomed with a Guard of Honor by Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on Pakistan Television at approximately 11:00 am PST.

Following the welcome, both leaders will hold bilateral talks, with a focus on strengthening ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

This will be followed by a signing ceremony for memoranda of understanding and agreements in key areas such as trade, investment, and cooperation.

A joint press conference will also be held, with the details of the agreements to be shared with the media.

In the afternoon, Prime Minister Sharif will pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs of the 44-day Nagorno-Karabakh war, visiting a memorial that commemorates Azerbaijan’s victory.

Later, Prime Minister Sharif will address the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum, an important event aimed at boosting trade and investment between the two countries. This event will also be aired live on Pakistan Television at around 6:00 pm PST.

The visit will conclude with a state dinner hosted by President Ilham Aliyev in honor of Prime Minister Sharif and the accompanying Pakistani delegation.
