Pakistan Teeters on Brink of Chaos as Imran Khan’s Ultimatum Expires

A tense standoff is unfolding in Pakistan as former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s deadline for the government to meet his party’s demands draws to a close.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman has been pressing for the release of his party workers currently under trial and the establishment of a judicial commission to probe recent violent incidents.

With the clock ticking down, Khan has warned that his party will embark on a nationwide civil disobedience movement, starting with a boycott of financial transactions, if the government fails to comply.

The PTI chief has also reached out to overseas Pakistanis, urging them to support their cause and highlighting the country’s worsening democratic, judicial, and media landscape.

As the situation hangs in the balance, many are left wondering if Pakistan is staring into the abyss of widespread civil unrest.
