A significant move to strengthen bilateral ties and promote cultural exchange, the Pak-Turkey Media Center was inaugurated at the NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi.
The center, established in collaboration with Turkey’s TIKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency), aims to promote media cooperation and exchange programs between Pakistan and Turkey.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Turkish Consul General in Karachi, Jamal Sangu, emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the two brotherly countries.
“When we call Pakistan our brother, it means we have some responsibilities towards our brother as well,” he said.

TIKA’s head, Dorsem Ali Yarasga, highlighted the significance of the media center, stating that it would not only assist NED’s remote programs but also emerge as a symbol of the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey.
NED University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Ismat Soroush Lodhi, expressed gratitude to TIKA and Turkey for their support, saying, “No matter how many times we thank TIKA, it’s not enough. They have helped us realize our dreams.”
The inauguration ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Turkish Consul General Jamal Sangu, TIKA’s head Dorsem Ali Yarasga, and NED University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Ismat Soroush Lodhi.
The Pak-Turkey Media Center is expected to play a vital role in promoting cultural exchange, media cooperation, and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Turkey.
Turkcell and Jazz collaborated to launch the BiP app in Pakistan, promoting digital communication and cultural exchange. Jazz and TIKA have partnered on various initiatives, including the development of Pakistan’s first Local Large Language Model.
