Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that the destruction in Gaza is estimated to have cost $100 billion, and he holds the Israeli government responsible for the damage.
Speaking at the Türkiye-Malaysia Strategic Cooperation meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Erdogan said Israel should pay for Gaza’s reconstruction.
Erdogan also called for the return of Palestinian homes, lands, and workplaces that have been taken by Israel and its settlers.
He warned that no one should be allowed to create a second Nakba, referring to the forced displacement of Palestinians in 1948.
Erdogan emphasized the need for a new global approach to solve issues in areas such as economy, diplomacy, and security.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim praised Turkiye’s growing global influence and its strengthened national pride.
