Lee Jae-myung Sworn in as South Korea’s New President

Lee Jae-myung was officially sworn in as South Korea’s 14th president on Wednesday at an inauguration ceremony held at the National Assembly in Seoul. His victory came after snap elections, called following former President Yoon Suk Yeol’s failed martial law attempt.

Lee won over 49% of the vote, beating Kim Moon-soo of the outgoing People Power Party, who received 41.15%. Lee secured more than 17 million votes in total.
