(By Shabana Ayaz) – Speaking to Türkiye Urdu, Turkish journalist Nur Delice said that the brotherhood between Türkiye and Pakistan is so deep that it cannot be encapsulated in mere words.
She further stated, “Our brotherhood is not limited to formal protocols; it is a bond rooted in shared religion and culture. When the Ottoman Empire was going through its most difficult times and our ancestors were fighting for survival in every corner of Anatolia, the selfless support from the Muslims of the subcontinent gave rise to a new hope. During the Khilafat Movement, donations and aid were collected, and a hand of friendship was extended a living example of the union of souls.”
Nur added that the Muslims of the subcontinent helped ignite the flame of their independence, and Türkiye, in turn, has always stood by Pakistan in its struggle for freedom. “Our languages may be different, our geographies may be apart, but our faith, our values, our hospitality, and above all, our love for justice and fairness firmly bind us together.”
She emphasized that Türkiye and Pakistan are brothers who support each other in times of hardship. “When earthquakes shook us, when floods struck, we were always there for each other. The same happened during the recent Pakistan-India conflict, and we will continue to stand by Pakistan in the future. This is not just a humanitarian obligation; it is a duty of our brotherhood.”
Nur stressed that today, strong steps are being taken to advance this brotherhood. “Our economic partnerships, trade relations, and joint projects in the defense industry are concrete examples of this enduring friendship. Cultural exchanges, artist interactions, dramas, and films have introduced each other’s cultures and further strengthened this bond.”
She mentioned that the youth of Türkiye and Pakistan are the ambassadors who will carry this brotherhood forward. “Türkiye and Pakistan will continue to be a symbol of peace and stability not only for their own people but for the entire Muslim world and humanity. Our friendship, despite regional and cultural challenges, remains a ray of hope.”
In conclusion, she addressed the people of Pakistan, saying, “Dear brothers! We must feel this eternal bond of brotherhood in our hearts and move forward into the future with confidence. We must always prove to be each other’s brothers and support, because Türkiye and Pakistan are the names of a brotherhood that will live forever.”
