Türkiye Committed to Eliminating Terror Threats, Foreign Minister Says

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Türkiye is determined to eliminate all threats to its existence, particularly from the PKK/YPG terrorist group, emphasizing that 2025 will focus on clearing terrorism from Syria.

Fidan stressed the importance of combating terrorism without bias, urging countries to learn from recent attacks.

He reaffirmed Türkiye’s ongoing fight against both ISIS and PKK and its commitment to achieving a terror-free Türkiye.

Additionally, Fidan discussed Türkiye’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace, highlighting its role in Syria’s reconstruction, advocating for a two-state solution for Palestine, and mediating peace initiatives in Africa and between Somalia and Ethiopia.

Türkiye also continues to facilitate the Grain Agreement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
