UN General Assembly Demands Israel End Occupation of Palestine

The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a historic resolution demanding Israel end its occupation of the Palestinian territories.

The resolution, which was passed with 157 votes in favor, 8 against, and 7 abstentions, calls for Israel to comply with international law and withdraw its military forces from the occupied territory.

The General Assembly also recognized the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and an independent state, and reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The resolution also called for an international conference to be held in June 2025 to promote a negotiated solution to the conflict.
