Türkiye and the United States have taken a significant step toward bolstering their defense cooperation during a high-level meeting held in Ankara on Monday, according to a statement from Türkiye’s National Defense Ministry.
The Türkiye-US High Level Defense Group convened to explore avenues for expanding collaboration in the defense and defense industry sectors. Officials from both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining a robust and candid dialogue, reflecting recent diplomatic engagements at the highest levels.
In addition to bilateral defense issues, the meeting tackled pressing regional and global security developments. Both countries reiterated their mutual commitment to reinforcing their longstanding strategic partnership.
As part of the ongoing defense dialogue, the next meeting of the group is slated to take place in the United States in 2026.
