Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized that energy cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan strengthens regional and European energy security. His message was delivered during Baku Energy Week by Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar.
Erdoğan highlighted key joint projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, and TANAP pipelines, noting their strategic importance.
He pointed to the recent launch of the Igdır-Nakhchivan pipeline as a sign of growing cooperation, enhancing energy supply in the region.
Plans to increase electricity connections between the two countries are also underway. A new memorandum of understanding aims to establish a green electricity transmission line between Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Bulgaria.
Erdoğan noted the potential for future natural gas projects, including the possible export of Turkmen gas through Azerbaijan and Türkiye, which would help diversify energy supply routes.
