On February 2, 2025, Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) alongside the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) successfully delivered much-needed humanitarian aid to Gaza, supporting the region’s recovery from the ongoing conflict.
The 14th Goodness Ship, filled with tents, blankets, and shelter materials, arrived in Gaza to address the urgent needs of those affected.
AFAD reported that trucks carrying essential supplies passed through the Rafah Border Crossing, entering Gaza to help provide shelter for displaced families.
The statement reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to standing by Palestine, with both the Turkish state and its citizens offering unwavering support: “With the strength of our state and the support of our people, we stand by Palestine. For our people in our country, for humanity beyond our borders.”
In addition to AFAD, various Turkish organizations have been active in relief efforts.
The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has sent medical supplies and food, while the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) has been distributing hot meals, blankets, hygiene kits, and other essential items to those in need.
The Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay), which has played a leading role in the aid effort, delivered 57 trucks of shelter materials and food packages, including canned meats, to Gaza.
Even when border crossings were closed, Kızılay operated soup kitchens, ensuring that thousands of people in northern and southern Gaza received hot meals.
With the arrival of additional aid, Kızılay plans to expand these services and continue supporting Gaza’s recovery.
