Turkish Tea and Baklava Take a Ride Through London on Iconic Red Bus

A classic red double-decker bus in London was recently turned into a moving Turkish tea house, blending British tradition with Turkish culture in a unique promotional event by historic Turkish confectionery brand Hafiz Mustafa 1864.

Instead of the usual English tea and cakes, guests aboard the bus were treated to authentic Turkish tea, baklava, and Turkish delight, served in traditional tulip-shaped glasses and copper trays. As the bus toured landmarks like Big Ben and Piccadilly Circus, passengers enjoyed live oud music and a taste of Ottoman-era hospitality.

The event marked the launch of Hafiz Mustafa’s new Knightsbridge branch and a 3,500-square-meter production facility in North London. The brand, originally founded in Istanbul over 160 years ago, is expanding rapidly due to growing global interest in Turkish sweets.

Dressed in custom uniforms, staff served guests not only pastries but also rose water and fresh pistachios. The event, which drew both London locals and tourists, was initially meant as a one-off experience. However, due to enthusiastic feedback, Hafiz Mustafa is now considering making it a recurring tour.

The company is also preparing to open new locations on Oxford Street in London and in Souk Madinat, Dubai, and is building a 45,000-square-meter factory in Istanbul, furthering its mission to share Turkish confectionery with the world.
