Turkish Stock Exchange Opens Lower, BIST 100 Index Drops 20.5 Points

The Turkish stock market opened lower on January 21, 2025, with the BIST 100 index declining by 20.5 points to settle at 10,008.82 points, a decrease of 0.2% from the previous close.

This follows a modest gain on the previous day, where the index rose by 0.51%, closing at 10,029.31 points with a trading volume of 96 billion liras ($2.71 billion).

As of 10:30 a.m. local time, exchange rates stood at 35.6110 for the US dollar, 36.9875 for the euro, and 43.7220 for the British pound.

Gold was priced at $2,727.30 per ounce, while Brent crude oil was trading at $79.05 per barrel.
