Turkish researchers have created an artificial intelligence (AI)-based application to detect early-stage lung cancer by analyzing voice patterns. The app achieved an accuracy rate of over 90% in identifying lung cancer, particularly in its early stages.
Led by Dr. Haydar Ankışhan from Ankara University’s Stem Cell Institute, the study involved voice recordings from 50 healthy individuals and 50 lung cancer patients.
The AI program analyzes subtle changes in voice that may indicate lung cancer, even in its initial stages.
While the technology shows promising results, further research and larger trials are needed before it can be used clinically.
