Trump Calls China’s Xi ‘Very Tough’ and ‘Extremely Hard to Make a Deal With’

US President Donald Trump described Chinese President Xi Jinping as “very tough” and “extremely hard to make a deal with” in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday. Despite this, Trump expressed personal respect for Xi, saying he has always liked him.

The comments come amid reports that Trump and Xi may hold a phone call soon, as tensions continue over the recent trade agreement reached in Geneva on May 12.

The deal included a 90-day pause on most tariffs, but both sides have accused each other of violating its terms. Trump claims China failed to honor the agreement, while Beijing denies the accusations and warns of possible countermeasures.
