Rain Alert Weather System to Bring Heavy Showers to Punjab and Other Regions

A rain-bearing system is expected to enter Pakistan tomorrow, January 4, bringing heavy showers and thunderstorms to several regions, including Lahore and much of Punjab.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department announced that this system will affect various parts of the country, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.

According to the weather forecast, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Pothohar region, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Toba Tek Singh.

In addition to Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also expected to receive rain-wind/thunderstorms with heavy snowfall in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Buner, Shangla, Manshera, Abbottabad, Kohistan, and other areas.

Balochistan will also experience rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, and other areas.

The weather system is expected to bring much-needed rainfall to the region, which has been experiencing dry conditions.

However, the heavy showers and thunderstorms may also cause disruptions to daily life, including traffic congestion and power outages.

Residents are advised to stay indoors during the heavy rainfall and to avoid traveling unless necessary.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the weather system and provide updates on the expected rainfall and thunderstorms.
