President Erdogan’s Visit to Indonesia, Signing of Bilateral Cooperation Agreements

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Indonesia’s Bogor today, where he participated in a grand welcoming ceremony and met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

Following their meeting, both leaders signed bilateral cooperation agreements and addressed a joint press conference.

President Erdogan arrived in Indonesia on Tuesday night from Malaysia, where he was warmly welcomed by the public waving Turkish and Indonesian flags.

A high-level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) meeting was also held, which was established in 2022 during a meeting in Bali.

During President Erdogan’s visit, new agreements were signed in areas such as trade, investment, education, technology, and defense industry cooperation.

Both countries discussed expanding defense cooperation and planning joint military exercises.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global challenges, with a special focus on the situation in Gaza.

President Erdogan rejected the U.S. plan for the forced displacement of Palestinians, calling it unserious, and stated that Israel must be held accountable for the destruction in Gaza.

After Indonesia, President Erdogan will travel to Pakistan, where he will address the Pakistan-Turkiye Business and Investment Forum alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and attend another high-level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting.
