President Erdoğan to Discuss Ending Russia-Ukraine War with Trump

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced his intention to discuss ending the Russia-Ukraine war with newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump, emphasizing the need for concrete actions.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, Erdoğan stated that Trump had previously expressed his desire to bring the war between Russia and Ukraine to an end.

“We will raise this matter during our discussions with Trump and take steps accordingly,” Erdoğan affirmed.

He also stressed the importance of lifting international sanctions on Syria to pave the way for reconstruction efforts.

Commenting on the recent ceasefire agreement, Erdoğan called for its full implementation at all stages and stressed the need for uninterrupted humanitarian aid to reach Gaza.

Referring to the three-phase ceasefire plan, Erdoğan urged the international community to ensure Israel fulfills its responsibilities.

He reiterated Turkiye’s commitment to the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders.

Prime Minister Fico pledged Slovakia’s full support for Turkiye’s bid for full European Union membership and expressed hope that it would materialize soon.
