President Erdoğan, President Trump Discuss Bilateral Ties, Regional Issues in Phone Call

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with U.S President Donald Trump to discuss bilateral relations and key regional and global issues.

President Erdoğan reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the U.S, particularly in the defense industry.

He expressed support for Trump’s approach to resolving global conflicts, including ongoing diplomatic efforts with Iran and attempts to halt the Russia-Ukraine war.

During the discussion, Erdoğan highlighted the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, calling for uninterrupted humanitarian aid and offering Türkiye’s full support in efforts toward sustainable peace.

Addressing the situation in Syria, Erdoğan stressed Türkiye’s dedication to preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and achieving long-term stability. He welcomed U.S initiatives to ease sanctions on Syria, expressing hope that such steps would contribute to regional and global peace.

President Trump acknowledged Türkiye’s constructive role in Syria and agreed to further enhance cooperation. Erdoğan concluded by extending an invitation for Trump to visit Türkiye.
