Pakistani Embassy Hosts Launch of Dr. Tasawar Aslam Bhutta’s Book Celebrating Turkish Heritage

The Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi hosted a special ceremony to launch “Zuban-e-Yaar-Man-Turkey,” a new book by Dr. Aslam Tasawar Bhutta that explores Türkiye’s rich history, culture and values.

The event drew prominent literary figures and members of the Pakistani community. Speaking at the occasion, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, praised the author’s deep appreciation for cultural heritage, describing the book as a reflection of his insightful understanding of language and history.

The ambassador noted that the book had inspired him to revisit Türkiye, emphasizing the role of travel in fostering cross-cultural understanding.

Ambassador Tirmizi also recognized the efforts of Sarmad Khan for promoting Urdu literature through the Pakistani stall at the 2025 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. He highlighted the philanthropic aspect of the book, with all sales proceeds being donated to the Akhuwat Foundation in Pakistan.

During a panel discussion, literary critic Dr. Hassan Khalil called the book a “touching literary masterpiece” and a “gift to readers worldwide.” The author’s sister, Dr. Shabina Aslam, reflected on Dr. Bhutta’s compassionate personality and commitment to social good.

Arif Anis acknowledged the ambassador’s strong community engagement and commended the book for showcasing the shared cultural heritage of the Muslim world.

The session concluded with a discussion led by moderator Salman on the book’s literary value and global relevance. UNESCO has honored Dr. Aslam Bhutta with an honorary doctorate in recognition of his contribution to intercultural dialogue through this publication.
