Pakistan, Türkiye Set Target to Boost Trade Volume to $5 BillionPakistani exporters’ mega exhibition in Türkiye soon: Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid

Ankara – Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Dr. Yousaf Junaid, has announced that both brotherly countries are taking concrete steps to elevate bilateral trade relations to new heights. In this regard, Pakistan and Türkiye have set a target to raise the bilateral trade volume to $5 billion.

Speaking at a ceremony, Ambassador Junaid revealed that a major exhibition of Pakistani exporters will soon be organized in Türkiye. The event will showcase Pakistani products to attract Turkish investors and traders, creating direct opportunities for participation and investment.

He emphasized that Pakistan-Türkiye trade ties are not merely economic but are deeply rooted in historical, cultural, and emotional bonds, which need to be further strengthened. Dr. Junaid highlighted that Pakistan has immense potential in textiles, sports goods, leather products, food processing, and the IT sector, which can prove highly attractive to the Turkish market.

The Ambassador underlined that enhanced interaction between the business communities of both countries, along with frequent exchange of delegations, will play a key role in achieving this ambitious target.

Current Trade Status
At present, bilateral trade between Pakistan and Türkiye stands at around $1.5–2 billion. Pakistan mainly exports textiles, leather goods, sports products, and agricultural commodities to Türkiye, while Türkiye exports machinery, chemicals, electrical equipment, automotive parts, and iron/steel to Pakistan.

Over the past few years, bilateral trade has seen fluctuations, but in 2022, both countries agreed to finalize the Türkiye–Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is expected to give a major boost to future trade and investment flows.
