Pakistan Day Celebrated in Ankara with Strong Turkish Support

The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara hosted a vibrant and well-attended reception to mark the 85th National Day of Pakistan, celebrating the country’s journey toward independence and its enduring friendship with Turkiye.

The event drew an impressive roster of Turkish dignitaries, led by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş.

Also in attendance were Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, Minister of Trade Prof Dr Ömer Bolat and several former ministers and senior parliamentarians, including Binali Yıldırım and Bülent Arınç.

Top-level representation from the Turkish Armed Forces added further weight to the occasion, with Chiefs of the General Staff, Land, Air and Naval Forces present.

The event also saw participation from Deputy Foreign Minister Ayşe Berris Ekinci, leading figures from Turkiye’s defense industries, members of the diplomatic corps, academics, media, and the Pakistani community in Turkiye.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkiye, Dr. Yousaf Junaid warmly welcomed the guests and reflected on the importance of Pakistan Day.

He spoke about the Lahore Resolution of 1940 as a pivotal moment in the country’s history and praised the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, alongside the visionary contributions of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Allama Iqbal.

Dr. Junaid emphasized the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, calling the relationship one of brotherhood, shared values, and mutual respect.

The reception served as a strong symbol of the friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations and was marked by warm camaraderie and cultural pride.
