The Pakistan Army has claimed that its forces have shot down 25 Israeli-manufactured Harop drones, which it says were used in recent cross-border activity. According to the military’s spokesperson, these drones were brought down using a combination of technical countermeasures (soft-kill) and weapons (hard-kill).
Debris from the drones is reportedly being recovered from different areas across the country. The spokesperson stated that the drones represent a serious security challenge and that the armed forces remain on alert.
The Harop drone, built by Israel Aerospace Industries, is a loitering munition designed to hover over an area and strike targets with precision. While India has acquired such drones from Israel in the past, there has been no independent verification of this recent claim.
The Pakistan Army’s announcement adds another layer to the rising tensions with India, as both sides continue to trade accusations over military strikes and border violations.
