Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a phone conversation with Japan’s Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi to discuss the rapidly escalating tensions between Pakistan and India.
During the call, DPM/FM Dar informed his Japanese counterpart about the recent illegal and unprovoked attacks carried out by India on multiple cities across Pakistan. He highlighted that these strikes led to the martyrdom of innocent civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, and constituted a grave violation of international law and the UN Charter.
Despite the provocations, Dar noted that Pakistan has shown considerable restraint and remains committed to safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity while seeking regional peace and stability.
Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation and offered condolences for the loss of civilian lives. He stressed the importance of restraint by both sides and called for the use of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the crisis and ensure regional security.
