The Israeli military’s offensive in the northern West Bank has entered its 14th consecutive day, with a continuing wave of home demolitions and destruction.
On February 3, 2025, Israeli forces raided the town of Silat al-Harithiya, located west of Jenin, where they cordoned off several homes and demanded the occupants surrender.
Eyewitnesses reported that explosions from fighters of the Al-Quds Brigades of the Islamic Jihad group targeted Israeli military vehicles during the raid.
However, the Israeli army has not reported any casualties.
The assault follows a pattern of intense destruction, with Israeli forces also demolishing entire residential areas of the Jenin refugee camp on Sunday.
Kamal Abu al-Rub, the governor of Jenin, condemned the actions, stating that Israeli authorities are deliberately trying to make the camp uninhabitable by targeting homes and critical infrastructure.
These bombings are the first of their kind since 2002, when parts of the camp were destroyed in a previous conflict.
The violence escalated after Israel launched an offensive against Jenin city and its refugee camp on January 21, killing at least 25 Palestinians.
The operation was expanded to Tulkarm, where three additional Palestinians were killed.
This offensive follows a fragile ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal that took hold in Gaza on January 19 after 15 months of warfare that claimed over 47,500 Palestinian lives and left the enclave in ruins.
Since the beginning of the war on Gaza in October 2023, over 900 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank.
