Iraqi PM Al-Sudani to Visit Türkiye in May for Strategic Cooperation Talks

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has accepted an invitation from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to visit Ankara in May for a key session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

The announcement followed a meeting with Turkish Ambassador Anil Bora Inan, who delivered Erdoğan’s official invitation. Al-Sudani affirmed Iraq’s commitment to enhancing relations with Türkiye, noting progress across various sectors such as security, water, energy, industry, and transportation.

The high-level talks are expected to focus on strengthening regional cooperation and advancing mutual interests between the two neighboring nations.
