India-Pakistan Tensions: Funeral of Seven-Year-Old Irtiza Held with Participation of President, Prime Minister, and Army Chief

The funeral prayer of seven-year-old innocent child Irtiza Abbas Torri, who was martyred in the aerial attacks by Indian forces in the Daurandi area of Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir, was held today in Islamabad. Irtiza was the son of Lieutenant Colonel Zahid Abbas Torri.

The funeral prayer was attended by President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Minister of Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister of Information, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, as well as senior serving and retired military officers, government and civil personalities, military personnel, and the martyr’s family.

After the funeral prayer, the Prime Minister strongly condemned India’s attacks, stating that deliberately targeting innocent civilians, especially children, women, and the elderly, is a cowardly and condemnable act. He said that these actions reflect the Indian government’s aggressive and arrogant mindset, which poses a threat not only to the region but to global peace.

The President and the Prime Minister expressed their determination that Pakistan’s brave armed forces are confronting Indian aggression courageously and decisively on every front, and that severe responses will be given to violations of international laws and human values by India.

The President and Prime Minister prayed that Allah grants a place in His mercy to the innocent souls martyred in these attacks and gives their families the strength to bear this loss.
