Imran Khan Expels Sher Afzal Marwat from PTI Following Internal Rift

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has expelled senior leader Sher Afzal Marwat from the party, as internal disagreements continue to affect PTI’s unity.

The decision to remove Marwat was taken directly by Imran Khan, signaling a deeper divide within the leadership ranks.

Though the exact reasons behind Marwat’s expulsion have not been officially disclosed, party insiders believe it is linked to recent tensions within the leadership.

Marwat, a prominent figure in PTI, had previously served in key roles within the party.

However, his controversial remarks and actions reportedly did not align with PTI’s official stance.

Last month, PTI issued a second show-cause notice to Marwat, reprimanding him for statements contrary to the party’s position.

The notice also barred him from representing the party in the media until he responded. Marwat’s actions have been seen as damaging to party unity, prompting the party leadership, including Imran Khan, to take action.

Khan, who is currently incarcerated, directed the expulsion, citing Marwat’s repeated violations of party discipline.

This move is seen as part of PTI’s ongoing efforts to address internal divisions as the party faces mounting challenges.
