Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan provided valuable insights at the security summit held in London focusing on the ongoing Ukraine conflict.
The summit, organized by the UK Foreign Ministry, gathered 17 countries, the European Union, and Canada, along with NATO representatives. However, the United States was notably absent from the event.
Speaking after the summit, Fidan emphasized Türkiye’s significant role in facilitating a potential peace agreement in Ukraine, highlighting that the discussions centered around various perspectives within the European Union, especially given the evolving stance of the United States in recent weeks.
Fidan also underlined Türkiye’s contributions not only toward peace negotiations but also in shaping the future of European security architecture.
He mentioned that future meetings are expected to occur more frequently, potentially every two or three weeks, to continue efforts toward a peaceful resolution.
This summit reinforced Türkiye’s central position in international diplomacy and its ongoing efforts to help resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
