After a four-and-a-half-hour discussion in Riyadh, Russia and the US concluded their first official talks in years, focusing on improving bilateral ties and addressing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov hailed the meeting as “productive,” emphasizing that both sides agreed to respect each other’s interests and work toward stronger relations.
Additionally, they agreed to form working groups on Ukraine, though specifics regarding participants and structure remain undecided.
A potential meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump is still under consideration, though no date has been set.
