Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has taken the lead in international efforts to shape the future of Syria, following the collapse of the 61-year Baath regime.
Erdogan has engaged in a series of diplomatic talks with world leaders, emphasizing the need for unity, stability, and a terror-free Syria.
In his discussions with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Erdogan stressed the importance of preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and promoting a united, terror-free Syria.
The Turkish president also highlighted the need for the international community to work together in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of institutions in Syria.
Erdogan’s diplomatic efforts aim to ensure a peaceful and stable transition in Syria, following the departure of Bashar Assad, who fled to Russia after anti-regime groups took control of Damascus.
Erdogan’s leadership in shaping the future of Syria has been widely recognized, with many countries acknowledging the importance of Turkey’s role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
