Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz will present Türkiye’s position at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding Israel’s legal responsibilities in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, including East Jerusalem.
This follows a UN General Assembly resolution passed in December 2024, which called on the ICJ to provide an advisory opinion on Israel’s actions. Türkiye was one of the 52 co-sponsors of the resolution.
Yilmaz is set to deliver Türkiye’s oral statement on April 30, as part of oral hearings running from April 28 to May 2. Türkiye had previously submitted a written statement to the court in February.
44 countries and organizations are participating in the hearings, focusing on Israel’s obligations under international law in Palestine.
