
Astana — On the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a key meeting, agreeing to usher in a new era of cooperation between the two nations.
During the talks, both leaders emphasized expanding economic partnership, improving trade balance, exploring fresh investment opportunities, enhancing collaboration in energy and technology, and strengthening people-to-people ties. President Erdoğan reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to deepening relations with China and advancing mutual economic and social links.
President Xi described Türkiye as an important partner, stressing China’s readiness to cooperate on infrastructure development, economic growth, and regional stability. He also underlined the need for joint efforts to address global challenges such as climate change and trade disputes.
Observers say the meeting marks a turning point in Türkiye–China ties, expected to reinforce not only bilateral diplomatic and economic relations but also contribute to regional balance and stability.
From Pakistan’s perspective, growing cooperation between Türkiye and China could have direct implications for the regional strategic landscape. As a close ally of both nations, Pakistan may benefit through stronger collaboration on projects like CPEC, enhanced trade, and broader security cooperation, potentially opening new diplomatic and economic opportunities.
