Türkiye Welcomes Pakistan-India Ceasefire, Urges Dialogue for Lasting Stability

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially welcomed the recent ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, calling it a positive and necessary step toward regional peace.

In a statement released today, the ministry urged both nations to seize this opportunity to establish “direct and healthy dialogue,” emphasizing the importance of sustained communication to prevent future escalations.

“To ensure lasting stability in South Asia, it is essential to establish effective mechanisms for dialogue and systems to combat terrorism,” the ministry stated. “This is absolutely clear.”

Türkiye also expressed its gratitude to all international stakeholders, particularly the United States, who played a role in facilitating the ceasefire agreement. The statement highlighted the collective diplomatic efforts that helped bring the two nuclear-armed neighbors back from the brink of a broader conflict.

The ceasefire follows a series of escalatory military actions, including missile strikes and retaliatory operations, that had raised global alarm over the potential for all-out war in the region.
