
A remarkable exhibition was held in Islamabad to honor the memory of the late Hasan Çelebi, a renowned Ottoman-Turkish calligraphy master, organized by the Turkish Embassy in Pakistan and the Yunus Emre Institute.
The event showcased the exquisite works of Pakistani calligrapher Waseel Shahid, whose art continues to preserve and celebrate the ancient tradition of Ottoman-Turkish calligraphy.
The opening ceremony was attended by esteemed ambassadors and representatives from various Islamic countries.
Diplomats from 24 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), including Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Brunei, Indonesia, Somalia, and Malaysia, graced this significant cultural event.
The exhibition not only served as a tribute to Hasan Çelebi’s legacy but also provided a platform to promote the art of calligraphy and introduce it to the younger generation.
Wasil Shahid’s calligraphy pieces, which blended traditional Ottoman-Turkish techniques with a modern twist, captivated the attendees, offering them a unique and insightful experience.
