Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov Visits Türkiye as Part of Zelensky’s Delegation

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov is in Ankara, Türkiye, as part of the delegation accompanying President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Umerov met with Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler, who welcomed him with a formal military ceremony at the Turkish Ministry of Defense.

Following the ceremony, the two defense ministers, joined by Turkish Land Forces Commander Gen. Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, held important talks.

Umerov’s visit is taking place ahead of Zelensky’s meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, set for later.

This visit comes just before the third anniversary of the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, as discussions about potential peace negotiations are gaining attention worldwide.
