Turkiye is aiming to enhance its trade relations and mutual investments with Asia-Pacific nations, according to Nail Olpak, president of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK).
Olpak stated that the trade volume with Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan, three countries that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will visit during his Asia tour, has surpassed $8 billion.
Erdoğan’s meetings in these countries are expected to lead to more concrete projects and further cooperation.
He will co-chair the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meetings in both Indonesia and Pakistan and is expected to sign agreements in various sectors.
His discussions will also include global and regional issues, particularly focusing on the situation in Gaza.
As part of the visit, DEIK will organize business forums in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Islamabad to connect Turkish business representatives with their counterparts in the region.
These forums will focus on exploring trade and investment opportunities in sectors such as defense, aviation, energy, infrastructure, health, agriculture, tourism, and more.
Olpak emphasized that Turkiye aims to increase its joint projects with these countries and diversify its economic and cultural relations across various industries.
