In a significant move to strengthen family structures and support the youth, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the expansion of the Family and Youth Fund.
This initiative, which aims to assist young couples in their marriage journey, has already garnered 17,192 applications from couples across Turkiye.
Operated under the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the fund offers interest-free loans to couples planning to marry.
The loans, which can go up to 150,000 Turkish Lira, come with a repayment period of 48 months, with the first two years being interest-free.
Along with financial aid, the program also provides marriage counseling and training for both pre- and post-marriage phases.
Since its extension, the fund has been made available to all 81 provinces in Turkiye, offering a lifeline particularly in earthquake-affected regions.
The fund was initially launched in February 2024 in areas severely impacted by the disaster, where it has received an overwhelming response from couples eager to rebuild their lives.
Eligible couples must meet certain criteria, including being between the ages of 18 and 29, having no personal or shared property, and having an income that is no more than two to three times the minimum wage.
Couples must apply within two to six months before their wedding date.
This initiative is seen as a key step in fostering social stability, especially in areas most affected by the recent calamities.
It also offers hope to young couples who are beginning their new life together, providing them with the financial tools and support necessary to build a strong foundation for their future.
President Erdoğan’s vision for the Family and Youth Fund continues to inspire and empower young couples, offering them both financial relief and guidance as they embark on one of life’s most important journeys.
