
Local authorities report that a fire at a hotel in Kartalkaya Ski Resort, located in Turkiye’s Bolu province, resulted in the deaths of 10 people and injuries to 32 others early this morning.
The incident occurred at around 3:30 AM local time on the fourth floor of the 11-story hotel.
According to Bolu Governor’s Office, the fire prompted an immediate response involving 30 fire trucks, 28 ambulances, 85 vehicles, and a total of 231 personnel.
Rescue operations are ongoing with additional teams providing continuous support.
Initial reports mentioned six fatalities and 31 injuries, but the death toll later rose to 10.
The injured have been transferred to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydın stated that the fire started on the restaurant floor, but the exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.
At the time of the incident, 234 guests were staying at the hotel.
An investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.
Kartalkaya Ski Resort, situated on the summit of Mount Köroğlu, is a renowned winter tourist destination located approximately 38 kilometers from Bolu and 270 kilometers from Istanbul.
