TURKISH PRESIDENT ERDOGAN OFFERS TO MEDIATE BETWEEN SUDAN AND UAE

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has offered to mediate between Sudan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in an effort to bring peace and stability to the war-torn region.

Erdogan’s offer came during a phone call with Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the head of Sudan’s Sovereign Council.

The Turkish President emphasized the importance of finding a peaceful solution to the conflict, which has resulted in thousands of deaths and displaced millions of people.

Erdogan’s mediation offer is seen as a significant step towards resolving the conflict, given Türkiye’s strong diplomatic ties with both Sudan and the UAE.

The Turkish President has a reputation for being a skilled mediator, having successfully brokered peace agreements in several regional conflicts.

The conflict in Sudan has been ongoing since April 2023, with fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) resulting in a humanitarian crisis.

The UAE has been supporting the RSF, while Türkiye has been providing humanitarian aid to Sudan.

Erdogan’s mediation offer has been welcomed by both Sudan and the UAE, with officials from both countries expressing their willingness to engage in peace talks.
