As Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prepares to attend the “One Water Summit” in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Pakistan are set to further strengthen their bilateral ties.
The two nations have enjoyed a long history of cooperation, with Turkiye being one of the founding members of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) along with Iran and Pakistan.
PM Shehbaz’s visit to Saudi Arabia comes on the heels of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar’s, visit to Iran for the 28th Meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers.
Turkiye and Pakistan have been exploring ways to enhance their cooperation in areas such as trade, defense, and culture. The two nations have also been working together to promote regional peace and stability.
