Turkish Ambassador Meets Punjab CM Maryam — Detailed Discussion on Trade, Peace, and Cultural Ties

Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan, met with the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif. During the meeting, both sides held an in-depth discussion on the friendly relations between the two countries, trade cooperation, regional peace, and cultural ties.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz warmly welcomed Ambassador Neziroğlu and expressed heartfelt gratitude for Türkiye’s unconditional, clear, and unwavering support to Pakistan in response to recent Indian aggression.

She stated that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s remark — “We stand with Pakistan in both good and bad times” — is deeply etched in the hearts of the Pakistani people. She emphasized that Türkiye and Pakistan are not just allies, but brothers bonded by faith, culture, and shared history. She added that the relationship between the two nations is a shining example of mutual trust, brotherhood, and common values.

She also thanked the Government of Türkiye and the First Lady for their gracious hospitality during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum and emphasized the need to further enhance bilateral trade.

Maryam Nawaz said that Punjab is fully prepared to transform its friendship with Türkiye into economic momentum, highlighting the province’s exceptional export potential, investor-friendly environment, and excellent infrastructure.

She expressed satisfaction over the signing of 24 mutual agreements during the 7th High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, stating that these agreements lay the foundation for taking bilateral relations to new heights.

She concluded by saying that the relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye has grown stronger through the tests of time and holds the promise of even greater achievements in the future.
